Mirco Marchelli was born in Novi Ligure in 1963. He lives and works in Ovada, in the province of Alessandria.

A multi-skilled artist, Marchelli has been developing his first works in the field of visual arts since the mid-1990s, continuing his musical research.

The keys to interpreting his work are memory and the fascination that emanates from everyday objects; masts, stools, small pieces of furniture, pieces of wood or fabric, books, account books, registers, boxes and photographs are covered with a layer of wax that eternalizes and transfigures them. Marchelli gives new life and meaning to these materials, using their resonances and the stories they express to tell something new; he does not limit himself to evoking memories, but arouses suggestions that fall back on a blur of the past.
